NFL Week 1 The Monday Night Game

Sunday's NFL brought some surprising results, we saw some of the biggest defences sliced, like the proverbial hot knife through butter. We witnessed offensive machines stopped, by smart and forceful defensive pressure.

Tonight’s two games are peaches and their rivalries stem from historical legacies of tough, hard fought games.

New England v Dolphins - The all seeing eye and laser arm of Tom Brady may not be all that it was, but he is a true professional and I think this season he will again prove his genius. Although as a JETS fan it hurts me to admit that. But if Belichick cannot bring silverware back to NE then be prepared for Brady to seek an exit door – Belichick cannot let that happen.

New England has had their way with Miami a long time now and I do not see this changing. Miami cannot deal with Brady, as they are too reliant on their defensive rush. Back NE to beat the spread -7, their passing game is unbeatable. They are at least a touchdown better than Miami, who will rely on their running game to punch holes in NE. The QB for Miami is all ready taking venom from the fans, they want Denver's QB before a ball has been thrown.

Raiders v Broncos

Here is a typical Al Davis team at the start of the season, new manager, new QB, nearly all changed except for the best kicker in the NFL. Denver may be at home, but I feel that they have shown little change in attitude since last season and Oakland seem to be in a better place mentally. I am not sure about the new Oakland QB who needs lots of protection. However, I could back the Broncos on the spread -3 but I wont, I will definitely back the overs at 41 points.  Broncos at -3 may beat the spread but take the overs.

"Just win baby!"
